Frequently Asked Questions About Product
Question: Are all ingredients freeze-dried in Lindon Farms Food Storage?
Answer: Lindon Farms uses a combination of freeze-dried and dehydrated ingredients. In some cases freeze-dried is ideal, and for other items dehydration is most appropriate. In soups and other mixes where the ingredients will be rehydrated in warm or boiling water, dehydrated ingredients are best. When space is a concern dehydrated ingredients can take up less than a 1/3 of the space that freeze-dried ingredients do.
Question: Are freeze-dried foods more unhealthy for you than fresh food?
Answer: According to NASA, freeze dried foods retain 98% of its nutritional value while only weighing 20% of its original weight.
Question: Where is the best place to keep my food storage?
Answer: In cool, dark and dry places that are at or below normal room temperatures.
Question: How much food storage should we have for our family?
Answer: That is a very important question. You want to base that decision on the need to have about 2,000 calories per day if you are an adult and about 1,200 calories for a child. Each food storage company has different serving sizes with varying calories per serving. When choosing how much food storage to buy, consider the amount of calories needed.
